Founded in Portland in 2012 by Josh Meyer, who left a career in real estate to make perfume, Imaginary Authors inverts the usual order: Meyer composes a fragrance first, then invents the novel and the novelist it supposedly accompanies. Each bottle carries its own fictional book cover.
