Community Guidelines

Welcome and purpose

Parffolio is an independent fragrance journal where personal experience can add useful context to editorial work. These Guidelines apply to community ratings and to any comments, profiles, reports or other participation tools that we introduce.

Participating means helping other people understand fragrance without manipulation, intimidation or noise. These Guidelines form part of our Terms of Use.

Who may participate

You must be at least 16 years old to submit a rating or use another community feature. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental permission, that rule also applies.

Do not participate for a person who is barred from the service, and do not create multiple identities to evade a restriction or influence a result.

Respect people

Discuss fragrances, claims and experiences — not a person's worth. Disagreement is welcome when it is specific and civil.

• No threats, harassment, stalking, hate speech or degrading attacks.
• No doxxing or sharing another person's private information.
• No sexual exploitation, sexual content involving minors, or encouragement of self-harm.
• No dangerous instructions or medical misinformation presented as reliable advice.

Keep participation authentic

Submit only your own honest view. Parffolio community ratings are subjective signals; they are not verified purchases, verified wear tests or scientific measurements.

• Do not submit fake or coordinated ratings, use bots, scripts or multiple identities, or ask others to manipulate a score.
• Brands, retailers, agencies, employees and gifted creators must not hide a relevant commercial relationship.
• Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your experience, affiliation or source.

We may remove manipulated votes from individual records and aggregate results.

Fragrance claims, safety and accuracy

Make clear what is personal opinion and what is a checkable fact. Skin chemistry, climate, batch, concentration and application can all change performance.

• Do not present fragrance discussion as medical or allergy advice.
• Do not make unsupported allegations that a person or business committed a crime.
• Counterfeit claims must be careful, evidence-based and limited to what can genuinely be supported.
• Do not state uncertain ingredients, health effects or manufacturing methods as established fact.

No spam or hidden marketplace activity

Parffolio is not a marketplace. Do not post repetitive promotions, referral schemes, unsolicited advertising, deceptive links, buying or selling offers, or content whose main purpose is to redirect traffic.

Relevant commercial context may be permitted when it is clearly disclosed and genuinely helps the discussion.

Privacy and intellectual property

Share only material you have the right to use. Do not upload copied reviews, protected images or other content without permission or a lawful basis.

Do not publish personal data about someone else, including addresses, private messages, identity documents, precise location or non-public contact details. See our Privacy Policy for how Parffolio handles personal data.

Content and conduct we may remove

We may act on illegal content and on content that breaches these Guidelines, including threats, hate, exploitation, self-harm encouragement, dangerous misinformation, defamation, undisclosed promotion, spam, vote manipulation, privacy violations and intellectual-property infringement.

Context matters. Quoting prohibited material to report, criticise or document it does not automatically amount to endorsement, but use only what is necessary.

Moderation and enforcement

Our response depends on severity, context, risk, history and applicable law. We may take no action, request an edit, remove content or votes, issue a warning, temporarily restrict participation, permanently restrict access, preserve evidence, or escalate an urgent matter to a competent authority.

We aim to explain material moderation decisions where appropriate and lawful. We may act immediately when delay could create harm, legal exposure or security risk.

Report illegal or harmful content

Use the Report link beside a published comment or email info@parffolio.com with the subject “Content report”. Include the exact URL or content reference, the reason for your report, your country if legality depends on location, a good-faith explanation and an email address where we can respond.

A report should be sufficiently precise and substantiated. Knowingly false or abusive reports may themselves breach these Guidelines.

Decisions and appeals

If we notify you that your content or participation was restricted, you may ask us to review the decision within 30 days. Email info@parffolio.com with the subject “Moderation appeal”, identify the decision and explain why you believe it should change.

Where practicable, the review will be performed with fresh consideration of the relevant context. This process does not limit any mandatory right to contact a regulator, court or certified out-of-court dispute body.

Changes and contact

We may update these Guidelines as community features and legal obligations develop. Material changes will be identified by a new date and version on this page.
