THREE MOMENTS, ONE EVOLVING SCENT
Bergamot brings a brief electric brightness, immediately crossed by oregano and the dry heat of pimento berry oil. The opening feels airborne and combustible — a clash of citrus light, aromatic bitterness and red spice.
Frankincense rises through amber, cistus and opoponax until the fragrance feels almost architectural. Smoke is not an accent here; it becomes the atmosphere, lit from within by balsamic warmth.
Leather and agarwood smoke deepen the resinous core while patchouli and sandalwood establish a slower rhythm. The drydown remains powerful, but its force is now controlled — blue-black wood, polished hide and embers cooling in silence.

THE MIND BEHIND INTERLUDE MAN
Pierre Negrin grew up in a family connected to the trade in aromatic materials, trained in laboratory perfumery and developed his vocabulary across Mexico and New York. In Interlude Man, that technical grounding is evident in the control of unusually dense materials: herbs, incense, balsams, leather and woods are allowed enormous presence without losing the composition’s internal order.

First spray is chaos. oregano, peppery heat, smoke... I almost washed it off the first time. Glad I didn't. After 40 min the frankincense&resins become huge and smooth, then leather-woods sit under it for ages. Definitely a 1-2 spray fragrance for me.
