Elsewhere opens with honey, mango, apricot and bright citrus sharpened by ginger, cardamom and pink pepper. Black tea, cappuccino and davana deepen the centre before tonka, vanilla, resins and a sandalwood–oakwood patina settle into the trail.

THREE MOMENTS, ONE EVOLVING SCENT
Honey binds mango, pomegranate and apricot into a glowing fruit accord, while tangerine and grapefruit add peel-like brightness. Ginger, cardamom and pink pepper prevent the sweetness from becoming still, giving the opening lift, heat and a sense of forward motion.
The fruit recedes into a more intimate interior. Black tea introduces tannic dryness and a shadowed aromatic texture; cappuccino adds roasted coffee, milk foam and soft bitterness; davana moves between dried fruit, herbs and a faintly boozy warmth. The result is gourmand, but never simply edible.
Tonka bean and vanilla bring sweet-smoky warmth, while cedarwood gives the base a dry frame. Labdanum, cypriol, vetiver and patchouli add amber, roots, earth and shadow. Beneath them, sandalwood and oakwood from the double-infusion process create the smooth, quietly aged finish that links Elsewhere to the Essences collection.

THE PERFUMER BEHIND ELSEWHERE
Pierre Negrin, the son of scent traders, learned perfumery through laboratory practice and later worked in Mexico and New York. Amouage describes his approach as cosmopolitan and pragmatic, with particular control over dense balsams and absolutes. In Elsewhere, that control is visible in the transition from exuberant honeyed fruit to a roasted tea-and-cappuccino heart and finally to resins, roots and infused woods: each layer is rich, but the architecture remains legible.
A generous opening becomes progressively darker without losing the warmth that makes the journey feel like a return home.
