THREE MOMENTS, ONE EVOLVING SCENT
Orange essence arrives first, genuinely bright and citrusy, with Akigalawood's dry, spiced woodiness right behind it. This opening doesn't hint at gourmand yet — it reads closer to a sharp, aromatic wood accord before anything sweet shows up.
Dark chocolate and cacao arrive dense and bittersweet, not sugary — this is Tom Ford's proprietary Cocoa Smoke accord, built by co-distilling tobacco leaves and dark chocolate together rather than simply layering the two. Daniela Andrier, a Givaudan Master Perfumer whose work spans Prada, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, built Tobacco Chocolat around a technical signature: co-distilling roasted tobacco leaves with dark chocolate rather than blending the two as separate notes. Orange and Akigalawood brighten the opening, but the fragrance's identity rests entirely on that fused Cocoa Smoke accord.
